As we know, Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5 Update 4a supports lots of new features, I showed you how to step by step to install it at my previously Blog.
Today, I tried to upgrade Veeam Backup and Replication from 9.5 update 3a to 4a, it showed Unable to detect database action error message, it has never happened this error before, I got a solution to solve this issues after contact with Veeam support engineer, let’s follow steps to solve this issue.
- Login to the Veeam server.
-
Click Start, click Run, type Regedit.exe, and then click OK.
-
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
-
In the right pane, verify that the values are the same as the values in the following table.
For Windows server 2016 and 2019
-
If any Name, Type, or Value does not match the table, you need to Delete them or Modify them.
-
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
-
In the right pane, verify that the values are the same as the values in the following table.
For Windows server 2016 and 2019
-
If any Name, Type, or Value does not match the table, you need to Delete them or Modify them.
- Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the Veeam Server.
-
I ran Setup.exe to install Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5 update 4a again, the error message was gone and install successful.
