Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 extends data protection and follows the same methodology as Veeam Backup and Replication. This 3-2-1-1-0 rule can also be applied to backup repositories in cloud-based object storage using Backup Copy Jobs: Azure Blob Storage Archive access tier, Amazon S3 Glacier storage class, or Amazon S3 Glacier Deep Archive storage class.

Veeam released the Backup & Replication v10 on February, and with it comes over 150+ anticipated new features and enhancements. Veeam now also have support for the option “Copy backups to object storage as soon as they are created” at SOBR Repositories settings, it will create additional copy of your backups for added redundancy by having all backups copied to the capacity tier as soon as they are created on the performance tier. Veeam released the Backup & Replication 9.5 Update 4 on January, also with this release, Veeam now also have support for Cloud based Object Storage, such as Azure Blob Storage which means that we can have the last 30 days of data stored on a local repository and then move the archive or later up to a Azure Blob but Azure Blob is capacity tier storage, you cannot use it as local backup repository and backup data to it directly.
